- Prévention des infections à Virus Herpes Simplex chez les sujets immunodéprimés. - Chez le sujet immunocompétent : Infections cutanées ou muqueuses : Traitement des infections herpétiques cutanées ou muqueuses sévères (en excluant l’herpès néonatal et les infections herpétiques sévères chez les enfants immunodéprimés), (il s'agit en général de primo-infections), en particulier de l'herpès génital et des gingivo-stomatites herpétiques aiguës. En raison de son mode d'action, l'aciclovir n'éradique pas les virus latents. Après traitement, le malade restera donc exposé à la même fréquence de récidives qu'auparavant. Traitement des récurrences d'herpès génital. Prévention des infections à Virus Herpes Simplex, chez les sujets souffrant d'au moins 6 récurrences par an. Infections ophtalmologiques : Prévention des récidives d'infections oculaires à HSV : * kératites épithéliales après 3 récurrences par an ou en cas de facteur déclenchant connu, * kératites stromales et kérato-uvéites après 2 récurrences par an. * en cas de chirurgie de l'œil. Traitement des kératites et kérato-uvéites à HSV.
