Dépression La sertaline est indiquée pour le traitement des symptômes de la dépression légère à modérée, de même que pour la prévention d'une rechute de l'épisode dépressif initial ou de l'apparition de nouveaux épisodes chez des patients ambulatoires. Les données chez les patients hospitalisés présentant une dépression grave et un risque élevé de suicide sont insuffisantes. Troubles obsessionnels compulsifs La sertaline est indiquée pour le traitement et la prévention (secondaire) des troubles obsessionnels compulsifs chez les adultes, les adolescents et les enfants à partir de 6 ans. En présence de troubles obsessionnels compulsifs ayant initialement répondu au traitement, on a constaté une efficacité, une sécurité et une tolérance durables au cours d'un traitement par sertaline d'une durée allant jusqu'à deux ans. Troubles paniques La sertaline est indiquée pour le traitement des attaques de panique, avec ou sans agoraphobie. État de stress post-traumatique La sertaline est indiquée pour atténuer les symptômes de l'état chronique de stress post-traumatique. Phobie sociale La sertaline est indiquée pour le traitement de la phobie sociale. L'efficacité à long terme (plus de 24 semaines) pour le traitement de la phobie sociale n'est pas encore établie.
