Valaciclovir est indiqué pour le traitement du zona (entreprendre le traitement aussi rapidement que possible, au plus tard dans les 72 heures). Valaciclovir est indiqué pour le traitement des infections herpétiques cutanées et muqueuses, y compris primo-infection et récidives d'herpès génital, ainsi que pour la prévention des récidives d'infection herpétique, y compris celles d'herpès génital, quand les autres traitements ne sont pas suffisamment efficaces et que les troubles sont fréquents et prolongés. Valaciclovir est indiqué pour la prévention des maladies à cytomégalovirus (CMV) après une transplantation rénale, en situation à haut risque (donneur séropositif pour le CMV et receveur séronégatif).
